It’s finally here.

Tomorrow we go to the polls to cast our ballots. I’m told that as a candidate I’m supposed to be rushing around frantically. I'm supposed to be second guessing everything and worrying.

We can do better. We should demand better. We MUST demand better, or our democracy dies.

Well, in my 30 years of leading and planning large technology projects, I've learned it isn't necessary. Poorly planned, poorly executed, and poorly led projects that lack vision need a "superhero" at the end. And that’s not us.

I've spent 18 months knocking thousands of doors. I've shared our vision of working together for the people of Oklahoma to everyone who would listen, regardless of political party. It makes me proud of our community to say I can count on one hand the number of people who were mean and ugly. And I listened to you. I'm sad that I heard story after story from people who have lost hope. Government may work for some people, but it's not working for them.

Folks, we live in a democracy. It's SUPPOSED to work for us - "We the people!"

I get it. We've all grown cynical and numb. It seems like politics these days is nothing more than manipulating people. Negative attack ads. Questionable robocalls. Whisper campaigns. Hateful, hurtful memes designed to divide us instead of unite us. It's all so frustrating.

We can do better. We should demand better. We MUST demand better, or our democracy dies.

I'm proud of our campaign. And I’m grateful to everyone who has helped us. We've run a clean race. And we have stayed positive and true to ourselves. We've listened and learned. We've made new friends and renewed old friendships. We've shared our vision and have done so by educating, not shouting. Regardless of the outcome, I will wake up on Wednesday morning content. We have fought the good fight. We have finished the course. We have kept the faith. And we have remained true to ourselves.

I’m Andy Fugate. And I hope you will vote for me tomorrow. But more importantly, for the good of our state and our country, I pray you will vote for people in every race who will work together to make things better for ALL of us.

God bless us all.
